Migration between similar applications should be a simple task. This, sadly, isn’t the case for users who try to import their Evernote notes to Microsoft OneNote. These apps are quite comparable and the whole process shouldn’t be a drag. Especially since there’s a dedicated tool provided by Microsoft which automatizes the transition. Except, it seems that Microsoft Evernote to OneNote Importer won’t work.

We have a few solutions, so make sure to check them out. Hopefully, they’ll help you address the problem.

However, a short disclaimer is necessary.

The Microsoft Evernote to OneNote Importer is not the best piece of software you’ll ever run into. The discrepancy between the updates of two respective applications is more than a problem. And frequent Evernote updates might’ve broken the connection between the two, which is responsible for how Importer works.

So, take these steps with the pinch of salt, since we can only guess possible fixes.

Table of contents: How do I get Evernote to OneNote Importer to work? 1. Scan for malware

One user has successfully managed to resolve the error with Microsoft Evernote to OneNote Importer by cleaning his PC from malicious software.

There’s a good chance that there are some potentially unwanted programs that affect the import of notes.

Consequently, we can give you a robust solution to detect various malware types that may block your OneNote from working properly.

The most suitable antivirus for this issue would be ESET Internet Security.

You can use this lightweight antivirus that will not interfere with your system at all, and also provide multilayered security against new cyber threats online.

ESET antivirus will also offer smart threats detection and secure your operating system and network for all your devices.

With comprehensive features against complex malware, it provides support for phishing protection, ransomware attacks, and other viruses that can compromise your sensitive data.

2. Sign out/sign in and disable encryption

Having eliminated the scanning option, we can move on to other steps.

The following one is to sign out and sign in again with your Microsoft Account associated with OneNote.

Expert tip:

3. Re-download the Importer tool

The importer might be affected by some other third-party programs or it needs more permissions in order to access your notes. Also, there’s a chance that you misconfigured the setup.

With that in mind, after you’ve prepared Evernote for Windows and OneNote for the transfer, we suggest re-downloading the Importer tool. This might resolve your problem but don’t your hopes high.

If the issue is persistent, move to the next step.

4. Disable Sync temporarily

Official instructions suggest syncing all notes prior to using the Microsoft Evernote to OneNote Importer.

We would go a step further and suggest disabling the Sync during the procedure. If the Evernote for Windows syncs in the background all the time, it might disrupt the exporting of notes.

Wait until it syncs all notes to local storage, and only then use the Microsoft Evernote to OneNote Importer tool.

5. Export notes as an ENEX file

Instead of trying to directly transfer notes from Evernote to OneNote, you can try to export them in the ENEX format to your PC and import them that way.

This worked for some users, while others experienced a sudden halt and the application crashed. This is a common way of exporting notes and it completely diminishes the use of the Importer, but it is what it is.

If you’re still unable to resolve the problem this way, move onward to the next steps.

6. Update Evernote for Windows and OneNote

As we already said, Evernote developers are not exactly eager to meddle with reverse engineering and optimize Evernote to work with OneNote.

So the best thing you can do to reduce the discrepancy between the two is to update both and hope for the best. Make sure to keep them both up to date and try exporting notes again.

7. Reinstall Evernote for Windows

Finally, if none of the previous steps helped you successfully export notes from Evernote to OneNote (or vice-versa), the only thing we can recommend is the reinstallation of Evernote (since OneNote already comes in Windows 10).

If that doesn’t help, send your ticket to Microsoft or contact Live Support and ask for the resolution.

To solve this issue, you must ensure that you are signed in with your Microsoft Account.

1. To check this, press Win + I to open Settings.

If the Microsoft Store still doesn’t work after repairing and resetting, you can uninstall the application and install it again. Yet, you can’t uninstall the Microsoft Store application as other standard applications. You need to follow a different set of steps to uninstall and reinstall the Microsoft Store application. You can follow the given process to reinstall the Microsoft Store app.

1. Press the Win key, and type Windows Powershell in it.

7. Check for Connection Problems

It is possible that there is a problem with your connection and it is creating an issue. We suggest checking that your system is connected to a working internet connection. Follow the steps to use the Network troubleshooter tool to check connection-related problems.

Similarly, you can use SFC Command to find corrupted files of Microsoft Store and replace them with the cached or previous version. Eventually, this can fix the Microsoft Store Not working issue on your Windows 11. You can check the steps to run an SFC scan.

2. Head to Network & Internet Settings from the left-sidebar.

3. Now, open Wi-Fi settings if you are connected to a Wi-Fi.

8. In the Proxy settings, ensure that the Automatically detect settings toggle is turned on and the Use a proxy server turned off.

9. Restart your PC, and check whether the issue is fixed.

Windows will now start searching for new updates, and you will soon see fresh updates on your screen. Once you update your Windows 11 PC, open the Microsoft Store app again, and check whether the problem is gone.

12. Disable User Account Control (UAC)

Windows User Account Control is an important security feature in Windows. You may have noticed that applications ask for permission when you install them. It asks permission to provide admin rights to the application to make changes to your system.

User Account Control lets you control whether the system should ask for permission or not. By disabling UAC, all applications will gain Administrator rights without being asked. This feature can also cause the issue you are facing with Microsoft Store. So, it’s better to disable it. Here are the steps to disable User Account Control.

1. Press Win and type UAC.

3. Now, drag the slider to Never Notify, as mentioned below.

5. Now, Reboot your PC, and run Microsoft Store again.

Best Tips To Fix Freeform Not Working On Iphone And Ipad

For the folks who never get enough of drawing and sketching, the Freeform app seems to be a complete package. What’s more, the all-new app from Apple also offers a neat way to jot down ideas, scan documents, and collaborate with friends on projects.

Despite being feature-rich, the app sports a clean user interface and is incredibly easy to use. Unfortunately, some iPhone users are having issues with the Freeform app as it does not work as expected. But there is no need to panic as I have found some workable tips to fix Freeform not working on iPhone and iPad.

Best Tips and Tricks to Fix Freeform Not Working on iPhone and iPad

To get going, let’s first talk about the obstacles that are hindering Freeform from working properly!

So, Why is Freeform Ill-Functioning on My iPhone or iPad?

According to the complaints, there are three major issues that users are facing:

App crashing

Random freezing

Inability to share a Freeform project with anyone

There is nothing new about apps crashing or freezing on iPhone. Thus, there is nothing to worry about it. As for the inability to enable collaboration, it requires a very simple fix which I will talk about later.

Having checked each one of the possible culprits, I have discussed solutions that are likely to resolve the problem.

1. Restart Your iPhone

Many a time, you can fix an app-related issue by just rebooting the device. Hence, I would recommend you kickstart troubleshooting with this simple but very effective solution.

2. Force Quit the Freeform App

If the Freeform app automatically crashes out at launch or while you are using it, force quit the app. Not to mention, it can also come in handy if the Freeform app is freezing repeatedly and does not respond to touch.

On iPhone and iPad without the home button: Just swipe up from the bottom of the screen and make sure to hold along the middle of the screen to bring up the app switcher. Then, swipe up on the Freeform app card to force kill the app.

On iPhone and iPad with the home button: You need to double-press the home button to reveal the app switcher. Next, just swipe up on the app card to force quit the Freeform app.

3. Hard Reset Your iPhone

Another reliable solution that you should try to fix the Freeform app not working issue is to hard reset your iPhone. As we all know how impressive it is in terms of resolving common problems, it would be better to give it a chance as well.

To get it done, press and quickly release the volume-up button on your device. After that, press and quickly release the volume down button.

Then, hold down the side/top button until the Apple logo appears on the screen.

4. Unable to Share Freeform Project with Anyone? Be Sure You Have Turned on iCloud

Can’t share any Freeform board with others for collaboration? Don’t worry! Note that you must enable iCloud for the Freeform app to be able to share any projects with others for collaboration. Notably, it’s not enabled by default.

After that, tap on iCloud and choose Show All.

Next, turn on the switch for Freeform and then tap on Merge to merge all the existing local Freeform.

Next up, launch the Freeform app and go to the All Boards section.

Then, select the board you want to share and then hit the Share icon.

Up next, choose the desired medium for sharing the invitation. The collaboration will kickstart as soon as your friend accepts your invitation.

No solution as yet? Now, I suspect a hidden software bug could be preventing the Freeform app from working problem. In this situation, updating the software is always the right choice.

Then, wait for a few seconds to let the device check for updates. After that, download and install the latest version of iOS or iPadOS as usual.

I would recommend you connect the device to a power source to ensure the software update does not come to a halt due to the low battery.

Delete and Reinstall Freeform

If the Freeform app continues to misbehave, delete and reinstall the app. At times, all you need to do to take control of a problematic app is to just delete and reinstall it.

Just touch and hold the Freeform app icon and choose Remove App in the popup menu.

After that, tap on Delete App and confirm.

Next, launch the App Store and search for Freeform. After that, download and install the app as usual.

Fixed Freeform App Not Working on iPhone and iPad

So, that concludes this detailed troubleshooting guide for fixing the problematic Freeform app. I know one of the above tips has done the trick for you and now you have started to sketch your imagination. But before you get too deep with your work, make sure to share your invaluable feedback with us and also let us know the tip that has enabled you to resolve the app.

Microsoft Edge Is Slow, Not Working, Or Crashes On Macos

Microsoft Edge was primarily released for Windows; then Microsoft launched the Android and iOS versions, and now you have the macOS version. In the recent past, Edge has been slowly shaping up as a Chrome alternative. I have been using Edge on my Mac and it has been a smooth ride.

1. Microsoft Edge is slow

You have four options:

It is possible that some of the webpages are heavy and consume more computing resources.

Once done restart Edge.

2. Edge Connectivity Issues on macOS

Sometimes the Edge browser might refuse to connect to the internet. This means you will not be able to open webpages or stream videos on sites like Netflix. Follow the steps below to resolve this issue.

Check device connection. If the WiFi icon on the taskbar is not white then it means that there is an issue with the internet. Ensure your router/modem is working correctly.

If you download a new program or app, that might cause a problem. If possible, uninstall the last apps you installed.

If Edge is spitting you back when you’re trying to log in to sites with password-requirement, the problem may lie with your cache cookies. Clean your cookies and browsing caches, and then reload Edge.

6. UI features like mouse-hover pop-ups, don’t work on Edge

If you cannot see the general ‘auto-info’ during hovering over something with your mouse, there is something wrong. For me, the issue disappeared after restarting my Mac. However, you can follow the below steps before restarting the system.

Clean your browsing cache.

Now Reboot Edge.

If the problem persists you have no option but to install a fresh copy of the Microsoft Edge browser on macOS.

This is a weird issue. While using Edge the font size decreases automatically. If this happens to you follow the below steps to increase the zoom and other Zoom settings from the menu.

Use Ctrl+ or shortcut to change the text size of a webpage that is open.

You can also increase or decrease the Zoom setting from the menu.

8. Webpages not saving on Edge macOS 9. OneDrive is not working on macOS Edge Browser

OneDrive throws errors on macOS Edge Browser. We checked Microsoft Support forums and this issue is primarily caused due to some ActiveX compatibility issues. Try using another browser and see if it works. Users have noted similar issues while using SharePoint projects.

Lastly, ensure that the Microsoft Edge browser on your macOS is updated to the latest version. This is very important when it comes to security and getting access to new, improved features.
