While using the adjustment brush in Lightroom, it can be difficult to see exactly what you’re painting on. Rather than going in blind and hoping for the best, there’s a hidden feature that allows you to actually see your brush strokes as you paint them.

To see your brush strokes in Lightroom, first, select the Adjustment Brush (K) and begin painting over your image. With a new brush adjustment created, press O on your keyboard to view the mask. A red highlight will appear, indicating where your brush adjustments are taking place.

There are a few other ways to see your brush strokes in Lightroom without having the mask always visible, like with the above method. Let’s break down all your brush viewing options and how to edit them for the perfect selective adjustments!

How To See Brush Strokes In Lightroom

There are three ways to see your brush strokes in Lightroom. The first is to hover over the edit pin until a red highlight appears, indicating the mask. The second is to check off the “Show Mask Overlay” option in the toolbar. The final option is to press O on your keyboard to toggle your mask.

Let’s break down each of these options in more detail.

1. Hover Over The Brush Edit Pins

Whenever you create a new brush adjustment, an edit pin is created to represent that adjustment. These pins are little grey circles that appear black when they’re selected. You can only see your adjustment brush edit pins while the adjustment brush is selected in the Develop Module.

Since each edit pin represents different brush adjustments, you can simply hover your cursor over any of the pins to reveal the adjustment areas related to that pin.

In this example, you can see that the red highlight is where this particular edit pin will adjust.

2. Check Off “Show Mask Overlay” In The Toolbar

If you’ve already selected an edit pin or have just created a new brush adjustment, you can check off the “Show Selected Mask Overlay” option found in the toolbar.

In some cases, you may not see the toolbar in your Lightroom window. Luckily you can toggle it back into view by pressing T.

With this option checked, a red highlight will appear over your previous brush strokes, along with any new ones you create. This highlight represents your mask, just like in the previous option. The difference, however, is that now your mask is visible while you paint new brush adjustments.

This makes refining spot adjustments significantly easier than without the mask!

3. Press O To Toggle Your Brush’s Mask

This option builds off of the previous, offering the same solution but in less time. By pressing O on your keyboard, you can toggle the mask (red highlight) for your active brush adjustments.

I always use this method to see my brush strokes in Lightroom because it’s so easy to turn the red highlight on and off. When I need to ensure my brush strokes aren’t spilling over an edge, I can turn on the mask. When I’m just making general adjustments, I’ll leave it turned off, so it’s not in the way.

With these three options, it’s easy to see your brush strokes while you work or to help you select which brush adjustment you want to edit!

How To Edit Brush Adjustments In Lightroom

Now there are three ways you may want to edit a brush adjustment in Lightroom. The first is adding to an existing adjustment, the second is creating a completely new one, while the final is removing unwanted brush strokes from a mask. Let’s break them down.

– Adding To An Existing Brush Adjustment

To add to an already created brush adjustment, select your Adjustment Brush from the upper panel or press K.

Now that your edit pin is selected, you can begin painting over your image to add to that selective adjustment. For example, if you wanted to darken a background but missed a few spots, this would be how to go back and fix it!

– Creating A New Brush Adjustment

If you’ve yet to create any brush adjustments, creating a new one is easy. Once again, start by selecting your Adjustment Brush by pressing K.

With your mask in place, work through your adjustment settings to create a new selective adjustment!

– Erasing Part Of An Existing Brush Adjustment

Unless you’re some Lightroom wizard, you will probably make a mistake or three while creating new brush strokes. Luckily you can easily remove unwanted areas using the eraser brush.

First, make sure the Adjustment Brush is selected and your desired edit pin is chosen.

Now hold the Alt or Option key to toggle the eraser brush. Continuing to hold down this key, paint over the areas of your mask that you want to get rid of.

Once everything looks good, let go of the Alt or Option key to go back to your regular Adjustment Brush!

While erasing your brush strokes, try pressing O on your keyboard to view your mask as you work. This makes it much easier to erase exactly what you wanted.

How To Delete Brush Adjustments In Lightroom

Now let’s break this down a bit more step by step.

As usual, select your Adjustment Brush by pressing K. This adjustment must be selected, or the associated edit pins with this tool will not be visible.

For a quicker option, just press the Delete key on your keyboard once the pin is selected.

And just like that, your brush adjustment has been deleted forever.

This is a perfect option if your brush adjustments are beyond saving and cannot be edited with the steps you learned in the previous section.

How To Show Or Hide Brush Edit Pins In Lightroom

To hide or show brush edit pins in Lightroom, select the Adjustment Brush (K) and go to the “Show Edit Pins” option in your toolbar. Here you can choose between Always, Auto, Selected, or Never depending on how often you want to see your pins. For general use, leave this option set to Auto.

If you don’t see this option, it’s likely because your toolbar is hidden. To bring it back into view, press T on your keyboard.

If you never want to see your edit pins, you can set this to “Never,” but you will have a hard time going back to edit your brush adjustments in the future.

Instead, leaving the Show Edit Pins option to “Auto” gives you more flexibility. With this setting, your edit pins are invisible while your cursor is away from the image, giving you an uninterrupted view of your edit. Once your cursor goes back over your image, all your edit pins pop into view and can easily be selected again!

Tiktok Watch History: How To See Videos You’ve Watched

Once you turn on the TikTok Watch History, you can access those videos you’ve viewed in the past seven days any time you like. If you want to keep a copy of your Watch History, we’ll also show you how to download it.

As of this writing, November 2023, the Watch History feature is only available in the TikTok mobile app on Android and iPhone, not the web application.

Use the TikTok Watch History Feature

You can enable Watch History for TikTok on Android or iPhone in just a few taps.

Open the TikTok app on your device and head to the

Profile

tab.

Tap the

three lines

in the top right corner to view the menu and select

Settings and privacy

in the pop-up window.

In the

Content & Display

section, pick

Watch history

The first time you access your Watch History, you may see a pop-up message about the feature. This lets you know that the feature is turned on and that you can turn it off in the Watch history settings. Tap

If you don’t see the pop-up message, select the

icon on the top right of your watched videos. Then, turn on the toggle for

Clear Your Watch History

The TikTok Watch History can fill up quickly if you view a lot of videos in a day. You can clear the history in the Watch History settings if you like.

icon on the top right.

Use the TikTok Search Filter

If you want a quick and easy way to see a certain video in your Watch History, you can do so using the TikTok search filter feature in the mobile app.

Visit the

button at the top to open the Search tool.

Enter a search term for the video into the box at the top and select

. To find all videos, enter an asterisk (*) into the Search bar instead.

Tap the

You should then see those videos you’ve watched related to your search term display.

Download Your TikTok Data

If you want to hold onto a copy of your Watch History, you can download your TikTok profile data which includes a text file of your Browsing History. Luckily, this feature is available in both the mobile app and web application.

Note: As you’ll see when you request your data in both locations below, it can take a few days for you to receive the file. Additionally, the data file will be available for you to download for up to four days.

How To Show 3×3 Video View On Microsoft Teams To See All Participants

Organizations around the world have shifted to one collaboration tool or the other during the coronavirus pandemic. While many companies have reserved themselves to something as simple as Zoom or Google Meet, for those who are dependent on Microsoft’s office utilities, Teams has managed to achieve some popularity of its own.

Like other services who are continuously trying to match Zoom’s extensive set of features, Microsoft is also steadily rolling out updates to its Teams app across different platforms. The Redmond giant has started offering users the ability to view up to 9 participants during a meeting on Teams in a 3×3 grid format so that you can see as many people as possible.

The following post will help you enable a 3×3 video view on Microsoft Teams so that you can see all the participants in a meeting.

How many participants can you see in a Teams meeting at once

Until earlier this week, Microsoft only allowed viewing up to 4 members that were last active in a meeting session. After the latest update (May 18, 2023), you can see up to 9 participants in a 3×3 format when conducting a video conference.

Since the service supports up to 250 participants in a meeting, the rest of the members will be shown as icons at the bottom of the screen.

In contrast, Zoom allows users to view up to 49 participants in a single grid while Google lets you see up to 12 members on Google Meet.

How to show 3×3 video view on Microsoft Teams

The 3×3 video view feature on Microsoft Teams pops up when at least nine members are logged into a meeting screen. Teams automatically switches the view to a 3×3 grid once it detects 10 participants in total on your screen.

Unlike on Google Meet, there’s still no manual way to change the layout of the participants shown on your screen on Teams.

Not getting 3×3 video view? Make sure…

You can enable the 3×3 video layout if you have fulfilled the following conditions:

Add at least 9 participants other than yourself

For the new 3×3 video layout to work, you need to add at least 9 participants to the call screen, not counting yourself.

Turn your video ON and request others to enable video

Microsoft has made it clear that the 3×3 grid view will only show up if participants have their video turned on.

If participants have not enabled video from their side, their profile picture will show up or their initials will be shown inside the grid. You can turn on the camera by toggling the camera icon at the bottom of the screen to ON position.

Enable your microphone and speak actively

Teams will prioritize you to be picked up inside the default grid if you’re actively speaking during the meeting. Besides showing people with video, a user will only be shown inside the grid if they’re active vocally during the course of the meeting.

To turn ON (or Unmute) the microphone for yourself, tap on the microphone button at the bottom of your call screen.

Log off and log in again on Teams

In a reply to a UserVoice post regarding the feature, a Teams engineering official said that the 3×3 video view has completely rolled out for everyone using the Microsoft Teams client on Windows and Mac.

If you still don’t see the feature when conducting a meeting, you can try signing out of your Teams app on the PC and signing in back again.

Can you see more than 9 participants?

Microsoft says that it has completed the rollout of the new 3×3 video view on Teams. It has also acknowledged that the 3×3 grid is just a start and it’s actively working on including more videos during a meeting session.

Microsoft Teams support team has also confirmed that the ability to see more participants in a meeting will also be extended to the Teams app on mobile devices.

What else can you do

Although Microsoft has promised the ability to view more people on Teams, you can also get your voice heard in this UserVoice that first requested the feature.

The UserVoice has garnered over 54K votes and you can also vote for the feature by registering your email address, where you will get updates on the status and availability of the feature.

Samsung Galaxy Unpacked – Everything We Expect To See

Although the Galaxy Note series won’t be returning this year, its most iconic partner, the S-Pen will. For the first time, Samsung will bring an S Pen that works with a foldable smartphone. Users will benefit from the larger and more resistant screens. The device will have improved multitasking and certain features that have been implemented in collaboration with Microsoft.

Galaxy Z Fold3

Samsung won’t be bringing a Galaxy Note21, so the big star of the show will be the Galaxy Z Fold3. The company prepared the terrain for Note’s absence by adding S Pen support for the S21 Ultra. Now, the Z Fold3 will play the role with a larger 7.6-inch internal display. It certainly will be a better option for multi-tasking and we assume that S Pen will be quite useful in such a large screen. Worth noting, however, that the S Pen will not be integrated with the smartphone as well as it does with the Note models.

The new S Pen Pro will charge over USB-C, instead of having it charge when you sheat it into the phone. The reason for not having a slot in the phone is that there’s basically no room for it. There are already many challenges in doing a foldable smartphone, just imagine having to put an S Pen slot here. To keep the stylus safe, there will be a special S Pen case that allows you to carry the stylus together with the handset. For now, it’s unclear if the external 6.2-inch display will support the stylus or not.

As per the reports, the Galaxy Z Fold3 inner display will be Samsung’s very first smartphone to sport under-display cameras. After ZTE, Xiaomi unveiled the Mix 4 earlier today with such technology. Now, it’s time for Samsung to definitively kick this trend forward. The camera will shoot 4 MP photos, however, it probably offers pixel binning for 16 MP shots. The external display will pack a typical punch-hole cutout with a 10 MP camera. As for the main camera setup, the device should stick with a triple 12 MP camera setup with wide, ultrawide, and telephoto modules.

The Z Fold3 with 256 GB will cost €1,900/€2,000 whereas the 512 GB model will come at around €120/£110 more. The company will allow users to trade in two devices when buying Z Fold3 or Z Flip3 in the United States. As for India, the device’s price should start around INR 1,35,000.

Galaxy Z Flip3

The next foldable smartphone to steal the lights at Galaxy Unpacked stage is the Galaxy Z Flip3.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 packs the clamshell-like form factor. This time around, the device will have a smaller body but will keep the battery capacity at 3,300 mAh. It’s not the biggest battery out there, so users need to take this in consideration when picking this handset. Samsung will equip the device with 25W fast-charging which is 10W more than the last year’s model.

The Z Flip3 will come with a 6.7-inch internal screen, the external display gets an upgrade to 1.9-inch. The camera setup, however, will remain the same with dual 12 MP cameras at the back and a 10 MP snapper inside.

Under the hood, the Z Flip3 will also come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC. For now, it’s unclear if there will be an Exynos variant, especially when Samsung never released a Flip series smartphone with an Exynos chip.

The company will introduce interesting cases for the Z Flip. One of which, comes with vegan leather, there are also silicone and transparent options.

The new Galaxy Z Flip3 will start at €1,100 for the 128GB model. However, with the 256 GB coting just €50 more it certainly fits as a better option. In India, the device’s price will start at INR 80,000.

Samsung Galaxy Watch4 and Galaxy Watch4 Classic

In addition to the new foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Watches are making a comeback to this year’s Galaxy Unpacked. There will be two new smartphones, the regular Galaxy Watch4 and a new Galaxy Watch4 Classic. The latter will come with a hardware rotating bezel and a classic design. The former has a sportier design and is free of bezels. Both wearables will come in large and small sizes with 1.36-inch and 1.19-inch displays. Both offering 450 x 450 pixels resolution. The battery life should be up to 7 days with a 361 mAh battery and a 247 mAh unit in the smaller versions.

The Classic variants will come with stainless steel and will measure 46 mm and 42 mm in diameter. The vanilla models, on the other hand, will come with aluminum and will be a tad smaller at 44 mm and 40 mm. Both models will come with Gorilla Glass DX over the display, an IP68 dust and water resistance.

Interestingly, the Watch4 series means a big change and major departure for Samsung. After all, after years of running with the in-house Tizen OS, the company will now adopt WearOS. More precisely, the devices will be running the One UI Watch 3.5 skin on top. For that reason, while retaining Samsung’s exclusive visuals and features, the OS will support Google apps like Maps as well as Google Assistant. Worth noting that Samsung has been working closely with Google in the new WearOS version that debuts with this new watch.

For that reason, the OS should remain exclusive to the Galaxy Watch series until the end of this year. Hopefully, the poor battery life of WearOS will be finally addressed.

In terms of health-related features, the devices will come with a pedometer, heart rate sensor, SpO2 sensor, and there will be an ECG feature. The watches will also be able to read the wearer’s body composition. Unfortunately, no blood glucose reading as this seems to be a couple of years away.

In terms of hardware, the new Watches will come with Exynos W920 SoC. According to Samsung, this processor is 1.25x faster than the last model and offers almost nine times smoother graphics performance. The device will be paired with 1.5 GB of RAM and 16 GB of Internal Storage.

European prices for the Watch4 are expected to start at €280 for the 40mm model and €310 for the 44mm one. The Classic version will go for €380 for a 42mm watch and €410 for a 46mm one.

Samsung Galaxy Buds2

This year, the company will introduce the Galaxy Buds2 which will come with Active Noise Cancellation and 3 Mics per earbuds. As per the rumors, the buds will offer 5 hours of battery life with ANC, 8 hours without. When you pair it with the case constantly, then the battery will expand to 13/20 hours more.

Thankfully, they will come with fast charging. Therefore, 5 minutes of charging ensures 1 hour of listening time. The case comes with a USB C port and also supports Qi wireless charging.

Galaxy Buds2 will come with two drivers per bud. There’s an 11nm “woofer” and a 6.5mm “tweeter”. The wearables come with a glossy finish and boast IPX7 water resistance.

The most intriguing fact is that the new Buds2 will come with a new pairing method. It does not require the user to take the buds out of the case. Perhaps this will be exclusive to the Galaxy smartphones. For conventional use, there will still be Bluetooth 5.2 support. The Samsung Galaxy Buds2 will be available for €160. And should still be positioned below the Galaxy Buds Pro in Samsung’s hierarchy.

That’s pretty much everything we expect for this year’s Galaxy Unpacked event. The new Foldable smartphones should be stealing attention, especially the Galaxy Z Fold3. After all, everyone will be looking at Samsung’s under-display camera implementation. Rumors suggest that the Korean firm’s implementation will be better than anything we currently have in the market. Those are bold words, and we are excited to see if they are true.

As for the new wearables, the Watch4 series will come with the objective of surpassing the very succesful Galaxy Watch3 series. They will also represent a major change for users now that it’s WearOS that will be running the show. As for the Galaxy Buds2, ANC is a sweet addition. Especially now that even “budget” earphones are starting to support it. Samsung needs to keep its premium true wireless earbuds relevant against the competition.

The company will also launch the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE soon. However, the device will not be present at this Galaxy Unpacked Edition. Rumors suggest that it will go official between the end of September and the beginning of October. The device should absorb the demand for the Galaxy Note series as well as the Galaxy S21 Ultra.

Rendering the Moon using Earth’s Colors

This is a rendering of how the moon would look if it was filled with Earth’s colors. A spectacular effort using the moon’s topography which was converted to colormap using matplotlib and cpt city. The 3-D model was created with blender and python.

An absolutely gorgeous firefly-like visualization. The author collected, cleaned and plotted the pick-up and drop-off locations of all taxi rides in New York between January 2009 and June 2023.

Instability of an unsteered bicycle

This surreal visualization shows 800 runs of a bicycle being pushed to the right. For each run, the path of the front wheel is shown until the bicycle fell over. The research paper is written in a humorous tone as well, adding to the already fascinating effort of creating self-riding bicycles.

The World Seen Through 17,000 Travel Itineraries

According to the author, “Each city is plotted with its (lat, lng) coordinates and connected to any other city that came after it in someone’s itinerary. For example, London is connected to Paris because there’s at least one itinerary going from the former to the latter. The countries were clustered together and colored using the Louvain Modularity. All countries of the same color have trips that go between each other more often than other countries.”
