Suggested March 2024 Top 10 Sports Games For Xbox One

As summer approaches, few head towards the fields to play their favorite sports. While the thrill of playing it outdoors is uncomparable, thanks to all these years of the technological revolution, we have become couch potatoes. People are very reluctant to moving outdoors. This makes playing video games at home the best alternative. If you miss your favorite sport, it would probably be available as a Sports game for Xbox 360 or Xbox One.

Sports games for Xbox 360 or Xbox One 1] Madden NFL

Madden NFL has a kind of monopoly with the American market. It wouldn’t be incorrect to say that Madden NFL is the only purchasable game in the U.S. However, this lack of competition has had no effect on its developers, who strive to keep making it better.

2] Pro Evolution Soccer

In the U.S, soccer is the term used for association football played in the rest of the world. And football for Americans is the game played with an oval-shaped ball. While Madden NFL is the only choice for American football lovers, they have many more options for their soccer.

If I were asked about the best soccer game in the market, the question would be answered with another question: Is it about the game in itself or the game with the most real-like teams and players. And if it is to ask for the best game overall, I would suggest playing Pro Evolution Soccer.

Unlike most other sports games, Pro Evolution Soccer is more of a simulation game than arcade. It isn’t about animations here; it is that gameplay that matters. The graphics and gameplay are quite realistic. All possible effort has been made to imitate the experience of the actual soccer league.

3] NHL

NHL refers to the National Hockey League. Though a less watched sport, it has its own dedicated fan following. NHL ’16 is a sequel to the famed first version NHL ’15. NHL ’15 is the debut game of the series that had some flaws. They were yet to judge their user base when they launched it. But all feedback has been studied, and this is evident by the positive changes made for NHL ’16.

The game has the usual GM and career modes besides the option to form leagues and playing it online. Both the NHL games are at a very basic level as per gaming standards. Being the only good enough option for Hockey lovers, they have a monopoly in this market.

4] NBA

Living in the U.S, the craze of basketball cannot be undermined. And while many games are dedicated to basketball, the oldest ones in the market is NBA series. NBA 2K16 is the latest one in that series.

The developers have been refining the game for years. As of now, the game comes with awesome graphics and a realistic view. Whether you are a basketball fan or not, you would find this game nice to play.

5] WWE

WWE is the acronym for World Wrestling Entertainment. Mostly claimed to be a fake show, WWE is a thrilling sport having a huge fan following.

WWE 2K series of games is considered a veteran in the gaming market. The 2024 version of the series failed to impress many. It focused on rivalries, and people didn’t find anything different in it. But that is exactly where they have improved upon while making WWE 2K16. The featured performer is Stone Cold Steve Austin.

WWE 2K16 focuses on past games more than the recent matches. They have more than 120 performers on the disc, many of whom were stars back in the ”80s and ’90’s. Interestingly, the new version has options to create new players using their tools.

6] DiRT Rally

Now that a racing game has to be listed on the list of sports games, it could be a huge competition for the slot. Many would try to recommend NFS or Grand Prix, but if it should be particular to the console, DiRT rally is the best bet in the market.

The graphics of the game are too realistic. When combined with the amazing sound effect, the user might get so involved with the game that he might lose track of reality. DiRT Rally isn’t easy to learn or master. It would need time and patience. But once you understand the game, you would surely become addicted to it.

7] Killer Instinct

Since the very beginning of the video game era, fighting games have been the most popular ones. This is probably because fighting games test skills that other genres don’t.

One great Xbox game to which could be played online, single-player (against bots) and multi-player mode is Killer Instinct. The game introduces a new character and a new challenge at every level. Just like the popular Tekken, it has a set of combos which if learned, make the gameplay easier.

8] Rory McIlroy PGA Tour

Golf is indeed a sport of the rich. There are a few professionals, but it isn’t like you could walk into a golfing society and join the league. A financial push is needed to be a part.

For those who love watching golf and dream of playing it, despite the difficulties with the actual sport, playing its video game on the console is not a bad idea. Among the few golf games available for Xbox, Rory McIlroy PGA Tour is considered the best.

Unfortunately, when we call Rory McIlroy PGA Tour the best golf game, it is because it lacks competition in the genre, not because it ranks high on comparison parameters. The players are small and the gameplay options are limited.

However, the game offers a good start with a detailed guide on the game. It includes every strategy that is used in golf. Despite the average graphics, the game gives a great learning experience for golf lovers.

9] Rocket League

If mainstream soccer has become monotonous, one could try Rocket League. It’s the same ball game but played with rocket-powered cars. The game supports both single-player and multiplayer modes, which could be cross-platform. This means a player with an Xbox could compete with another player on a Playstation.

The gameplay involves controlling a rocket-powered car to hit balls larger than them in size and score goals. It involves options like speed boost, etc.

10] Steep

Steep is an ‘extreme sports’ game in which the gameplay is set up in the Alps. The game involves 4 main activities: paragliding, snowboarding, skiing, and wingsuit flying. Since most individuals aren’t as physically capable of all these extreme sports; the thrill could be experienced on the console.

To give a realistic feeling, the game uses a GoPro camera for all these activities. The game involves performing stunts like grabbing and spinning to score points and win.

The Xbox 360 versions of the games could be purchased from the Xbox Marketplace. The Xbox One versions could be purchased from third-party sites like Amazon.

Xbox Games With Gold List For May 2023

As part of the Games with Gold program, Microsoft has revealed the next four titles that “Xbox Game Pass” and “Xbox Live Gold” members are getting throughout May 2023. In this rollout, the software giant is making available $79.96 worth of games, including Armello and Dungeons 3. Also, through Backwards Compatibility, you will be able to play Lego Batman and Tropico 4.

On Xbox One and Xbox Series X (and Series S), throughout May 2023, subscribers will be able to download Armello ($19.99 ERP). And from May 16 through June 15, Dungeons 3 ($29.99 ERP) will be available at no extra cost.

You can also see the April 2023 games here.

In addition, Microsoft has now removed the Xbox Live Gold subscription requirement to play free-to-play multiplayer games on the Xbox network. This means you can now play a variety of games on Xbox One and Xbox Series X or S online with other gamers without a Gold subscription.

Furthermore, the company is also making Xbox party chat and the Looking For Groups (LFG) feature available without a subscription.

Although you won’t be able to play every game in the catalog, you will no longer need to pay to play games like Call of Duty: Warzone, Destiny 2, Fortnite, Rocket League, Warframe, Apex Legends, and many others.

Xbox Live Gold vs. Game Pass Ultimate

An Xbox Live Gold membership gives you exclusive access to free games through the “Games with Gold” program every month. Also, the subscription gives you full access to online gaming and game discounts. If you are not a subscriber, you can always find good deals at the Microsoft Store.

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is a monthly subscription service that includes the same benefits as the Xbox Live Gold membership. However, you also get unlimited access to download and play over 100 high-quality games on your Xbox One or gaming PC. You can join the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate following this link.

Microsoft recently announced a new price increase on its Xbox Live Gold subscription twice as much as the PlayStation subscription (to $120 per year) on what seems to be a strategy to lure customers into switching to the Game Pass subscription. However, shortly after the announcement and customers complain, the company backtracked the hike and said that the pricing would continue to stay the same as before. Furthermore, the software giant is also working to make the Xbox network more accessible, like Sony and Nintendo, by ending the subscription requirement for freely available games (free-to-play) that you can play online with other remember.

Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S

Xbox Series X is the next-generation console from Microsoft that features AMD’s Zen 2 and RDNA 2 architectures and 16GB of memory, offering 12 teraflops of processing power, allowing up to 4K resolution and up to 120fps gameplay. The Series X costs $499.99, and you can order it now at the Microsoft Store.

Alongside the Xbox Series X, Microsoft also offers the smaller Xbox Series S, a slightly less powerful version of the console targeted at 1080p and 1440p gaming. However, it plays next generations games, and it only costs $299.99. The console is available now, and you can order it at the Microsoft Store. If you cannot decide which one you should buy, this guide will help you determine the best console for you.

Since Microsoft has now shifted to the next generation of game consoles, it has already discontinued the Xbox One X and Xbox One All-Digital edition production. Production of the Xbox One S will continue, and you can order it from the Microsoft Store.

Best 3Ds Games 2023: Top Nintendo Games For Your Ds

Pokémon Sun and Moon

Although we’re keen for a Pokémon game on the Switch, the franchise has always been about the traditional handheld console.

In short, we love Pokemon Sun and Moon. Partly because it solved some of the issues we’ve had with previous games, we’re talking little things like HMs and having the PokéMart inside the PokéCenter.

As usual, the game is great for players of all ages and we enjoy the way the game is split into different islands, varied tials and the awesome new Alola versions of Pokémon such as Vulpix, Sandshrew and Raichu.

There are plenty of new features including the Poké Finder, Z Moves, Battle Royale, Poké Ride, Hyper Training, Poké Polago and the Rotem Pokédex.

The Legend of Zelda: Tri-Force Heroes

Ever Oasis

New Super Mario Bros. 2

This is the second game specifically developed for the 3DS and 2DS with the classic side-scrolling style. Who knows where number 3 is in the series but this version is worth owning.

We’re not sure we could ever get bored of side-scrolling Mario games and this has plenty to keep you entertained with, starting with over 80 levels. You get the usual amount of secret elements to uncover.

The game is largely about the coins as you can collect a whopping one million. The Gold Flower power-up means you can shoot gold fireballs at enemies and blocks turning them into coins. You can also turn 10-Coin clocks into special Gold Blocks, which Mario’s can wear head to collect coins until the power-up runs out.

It’s all classic Mario fun.

Hey Pikmin!

Best Prices Today:

The cute little creatures that are Pikmin have been around for over a decade now but have finally made their way onto the DS.

Hey Pikmin! is the first title in the series to be portable and sees the return of Captain Olimar who, once again, needs help repairing his spaceship.

It might not be a flawless game but you’ll still have fun and it’s a good choice for younger players. The game is a sidescrolling platformer you can play casually one level at a time.

The most fun is had when flinging Pikmin at enemies using the touchscreen but you’ll also need them to solve the puzzles in each level. Different colour Pikmin have different skills like jumping higher while others are immune to fire.

Mario Golf World Tour

Mario Golf games have been great fun since the original on the Game Boy and N64 and we can recommend World Tour.

Basically Nintendo injects the kind of fun into golf that means you don’t need to be interested in the sport to enjoy playing. You certainly won’t get bored with over 200 hole across more than 15 courses.

World Tour might not have all the features of previous titles but it introduces a number of new features. These include gyroscope support, online multiplayer and downloadable content like N64 courses.

We particularly like Item Shots, where different items can do all sorts to your shot like ignore weather, avoid hazards and collect coins.

Monster Hunter Generations

Monster Hunter Generations is without doubt the best in the series. It maintains the familiar quest-based gameplay, with progressively more tricky creatures to kill or capture. You’ll need to work on your weapon trees, armour sets, collect materials and more.

As well as the same 14 weapon types, there are four Hunting Arts to try, and each works differently with each weapon type, so you’re never going to get bored of going into battle. The new Prowler mode means you can actually play as your Felyne.

In addition to new monsters, there are now Deviant Monsters to conquer too, some of which are mutated and more powerful forms of creatures from previous games.

Monster Hunter is awesome if you’re a solo player, but even more so if you group with up to four players.

Super Mario Maker 3DS

This one is a port from the Wii U but well worth getting for the DS, especially if you haven’t played the console version.

Without even making your own courses, there are 100 Nintendo designed courses and you’ll get challenged in various ways like attempting to complete a level without letting go of right to make Mario run.

When it comes to creating your own you get all the tools from the Wii U version (aside from the Mystery Mushroom and the linked Mario costumes) and you can make a course as simple or as complex as you like. If you like you can share your masterpiece with the world and also take on other players’ homemade levels.

Super Smash Bros. for 3DS

We love a good virtual brawl and Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS is certainly that. If you like fighting games then this is a must for your DS collection.

In simple terms, the game is a chaotic fight between characters from all over the Nintendo universe including Zelda, Pokémon, Kirby and more. You can customise aspects to suit your play style and fight against AI or friends via local or internet methods.

There are plenty of levels, support for amiibo and an exclusive Smash Run mode which gives up to four players five minutes to fight solo through a huge battlefield to see who can get the furthest.

Animal Crossing New Leaf

Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney

There might be a new Professor Layton game coming in July but that doesn’t make this game any less appealing.

As the name suggests this is about more than just the Professor and when Espella is kidnapped, both Layton and Wright end up in Labyrinthia. The professor and attorney must combine forces to save her.

The game combines the puzzles you’d expect but adds in the ability to defend Espella in court. You must alternate between the play styles and there are hint coins to find which will help you out. It’s another cracker from the franchise.

Kirby: Planet Robobot

Our list of best 3DS games wouldn’t be complete without Kirby. We’ve been enjoying games featuring the lovable pink ball since Dream Land on the Game Boy.

The latest escapade is Planet Robobot where Kirby travels through stages by jumping between the foreground and background and using more than 25 copy abilities to steal enemies’ powers. And yes, he can use awesome armoured suit like chúng tôi from Overwatch.

There’s also ammibo support and you can play the Team Kirby Clash mode with up to four people to complete quests.

Mario Kart 7

The series is in need of new version for the DS, but until that happens Mario Kart 7 is the best racing game available for the DS.

It was the Mario Kart game that introduced glider wings and underwater propellers that are now so familiar. You can also customise your kart with different wheels depending on the courses you’re going to tackle.

Other features include new courses like Wuhu Island, SpotPass and StreetPass, plus the ability to play multi-player locally or over the internet. New characters in Mario Kart 7 include Lakitu and Metal Mario. Don’t forget to check out the Balloon Battle and Coin Battle modes, too.

Luigi’s Mansion 2

Mario Party Star Rush

Forget trading property in Monopoly, although a Switch edition is coming, because Nintendo makes great board games.

As usual, you’ll play on different boards across different worlds but you don’t have to sit around waiting for each play to take a turn in order any longer. Instead you all play simultaneously making more flowing and fun.

You can expect plenty of mini games, board bosses and now you can almost collect players from the Mario universe as you go round to create a team. You’ll no doubt have fun battling it out with up to four players over local wireless or Download Play.
