Insights about the Company

Voxco is a global leader in omnichannel cloud and on-premise enterprise feedback management solutions. The company provides market research organizations, government & government agencies, universities, and global corporations with a platform to collect data anytime and anywhere via online and mobile surveys, over-the-phone interviews, or face-to-face offline surveys. Founded over 45 years ago and with offices around the world, Voxco services more than 450 clients in over 40 countries.

Few Words about the CEO

Sumit brings strong leadership to Voxco with his experience of founding companies and working at the International Monetary Fund, Bank of America, Merrill Lynch, and Houlihan Lokey. Throughout his career, he has worked at the intersection of technology, finance, and data in parallel. Sumit founded Pivoton Capital (which acquired Voxco in 2023) with a passion to help lower middle-market companies unlock untapped value. He holds an MBA from Yale School of Management, an MS in Financial Engineering from Claremont Colleges Consortium, and a BE in Electrical Engineering from Punjab Engineering College.

Experiences that Shaped the Entrepreneurial Journey

Despite his experience and skills from Yale and previous employments, it was his family that eventually propelled Sumit into running a technology business. His grandfather had caught the entrepreneurial bug and focused on the agriculture industry. In addition, after retiring from his government job as a civil engineer, Sumit’s uncle started a construction business. He saw the challenges they were up against and realized that running a business wasn’t easy or risk-free. But Sumit was also enamoured with the process of starting and growing a company, which outweighed the risks. “I wanted to know what it was like to take a business from point A to point B — to know what it was like to create something. After all, it’s one thing to sit in the background, enter some data into a model, and make a few guesses”, stated Sumit. “It’s a whole different ballgame to see success as a direct result of the work you do every day — and, of course, to demonstrate the opportunity to shareholders.” As he is currently the CEO of Voxco, Sumit is on the other side of the table, managing a company rather than dealing with transactions. Even with the effects of COVID-19, Voxco has grown its global family by 30% since May 2023 (when Pivoton Capital acquired Voxco). The company is investing heavily in virtually every department, and its subscription revenue is up around 25% year over year. It’s been an incredible ride so far, and Voxco aims at doing more incredible things in the future.

Challenges that Paved the Road to Success

“I came to California from a Tier 2 city in India in 2007 and faced the same challenges as all immigrant students at the time: no money, visa issues while trying to find an initial job. All of this was intensified because of the financial crisis of 2008. It was not an easy time. The effects were felt all over the world”, said the CEO. At such a time, Sumit was working at the International Monetary Fund where he conducted macroeconomic research with other economists to assist countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, and many others in the European Union in finding solutions to the financial crisis.

Serving Customers with Innovation

Voxco is an omnichannel feedback platform, which strives to add value for all kinds of enterprises. As customer experience makes a huge impact on company revenue, brand affinity & growth, the company constantly keeps adding new features to help enterprises deliver exceptional customer experience across all their channels, with a determination to be accessible to small & medium businesses too. Therefore, to help them understand the impact Net Promoter Score (NPS) can make on the revenue, Voxco keeps building free customer experience offerings such as its

Leveraging the Might of Disruptive Technologies

Artificial intelligence and predictive analytics are helping organizations go through heaps of data to derive actionable insights that will make their operations more efficient and improve profit margins.

What does Voxco’s Crystal Ball say?

When asked about the future of the company, Sumit said, “Our industry is more than US$80 billion in size and growing at a rate of 15%+ year over year. As the importance of data and most importantly, actionable insights are becoming more prevalent every day, so are our company and industry. We have aggressive plans for growth over the next several years and are expanding our product offering as well. It’s a very exciting time for the business as well as the industry overall.”

Exploring Data With Power View Multiples

Exploring Data with Power View Multiples

Multiples, also called Trellis Charts are a series of charts with identical X and Y axes. You can arrange Multiples side by side, to compare many different values easily at the same time.

You can have Line charts, Pie charts, Bar charts and Column charts as Multiples.

You can arrange the Multiples horizontally or vertically.

Line Charts as Multiples

You might want to display the medal count by year for each Region. Firstly, you need to have the field Year. To get this field, you need to have a calculated column as follows −

Type =YEAR ([Edition]) in the formula bar and press Enter.

A new column with header CalculatedColumn1 is created with values corresponding to the Year values in Edition column.

Close the PowerPivot window. The Data Model gets updated. The new field – ∑ Year appears in the Power View Fields list.

Create a Table in Power View with fields NOC_CountryRegion, Count of Year and Medal Count, by dragging the fields.

Convert Table into a Line chart in Power View.

Remove the field NOC_CountryRegion. A Line chart appears with Medal Count by Year.

As you can observe, Year is in AXIS area and Medal Count is in ∑ VALUES area in Power View Fields list. In the Line chart, Year values are on X-axis and Medal count on Y-axis.

Now, you can create Multiples visualization with Line charts, as follows −

Drag the field NOC_CountryRegion to VERTICAL MULTIPLES area in the Power View Fields list.

You will get the Multiples Visualization with Line charts arranged as a grid, with each Line chart representing a country (NOC_CountryRegion).

Vertical Multiples

As you are aware, you have placed the NOC_CountryRegion field in the VERTICAL MULTIPLES area. Hence, the visualization that you have got is the Vertical Multiples visualization. You can observe the following in the chart given above.

One Line chart per category that is placed in VERTICAL MULTIPLES area, in this case – the country.

The grid height and grid width that you have chosen determine the number of rows and number of columns for the Multiples.

A common x-axis for all the multiples.

A similar y-axis for each row of the multiples.

A vertical scroll bar on the right side that can be used to drag the rows of Line charts up and down, so as to make the other Line charts visible.

Horizontal Multiples

You can have the Multiples Visualization with Horizontal Multiples also as follows −

Drag the field NOC_CountryRegion to VERTICAL MULTIPLES area.

Select the values for Grid Height and Grid Width in the Multiples group.

You will get the Horizontal Multiples visualization as follows −

You can observe the following in the above chart −

One Line chart per category that is placed in HORIZONTAL MULTIPLES area, in this case – the country.

The grid height that you have chosen determines the height of the Line charts, unlike the number of rows of Line charts as is the case in the VERTICAL MULTIPLES. In other words, there is a single row of Line charts with the height determined by the Grid Height that is chosen.

The grid width that you have chosen determines the number of columns of Line charts in the row.

A common x-axis for all the multiples.

A common y-axis for all the multiples.

A horizontal scroll bar at the bottom, below the x-axis, that can be used to drag the row of Line charts to the left and the right, so as to make the other Line charts visible.

Pie Charts as Multiples

If you want to explore / visualize more than one category in Multiples, Pie charts is an option. Suppose you want to explore the medal count by medal type for each of the countries. Proceed as follows −

Select Pie from the dropdown under Other Chart.

Drag Medal to the area SLICES.

You will get the Horizontal Multiples visualization with Pie charts, as you have the field NOC_CountryRegion in the area HORIZONTAL MULTIPLES.

As you can observe the medal-count for each country is displayed as a Pie chart with the slices representing the medal types with the color as given in the Legend.

Suppose you want to highlight the count of gold medals for all the countries. You can do it in a single step as follows −

As you can observe, this gives a fast way of exploring and comparing the count of gold medals across the countries.

You might want to display more number of Pie charts in a visualization. You can do it by simply switching over to Vertical Multiples Visualization and choosing the right values for Grid Height and Grid Width for a proper display.

Bar Charts as Multiples

You can choose Bar charts also for Multiples visualization.

Switch over to Stacked Bar visualization.

Adjust the Grid Height and Grid Width to get a proper display of the Bar charts.

With Grid Height of 6 and Grid Width of 2, you will get the following −

You can have Clustered Bar charts also for this visualization.

Column Charts as Multiples

You can choose Column charts also for Multiples visualization.

Switch over to Stacked Column visualization.

Adjust the Grid Height and Grid Width to get a proper display of the Column charts.

With Grid Height of 2 and Grid Width of 6, you will get the following −

You can have Clustered Column charts also for this visualization.

Wrap-up

The fields you choose depend on what you want to explore, analyze and present. For example, in all the visualizations above, we have chosen Medal for Slices that helped to analyze medal count by medal type. You might want to explore, analyze and present the data gender-wise. In such a case, choose the field Gender for Slices.

Once again, the visualization that is suitable also depends on the data you are displaying. If you are not sure about the suitability, you can just play around to choose the right one as switching across the visualizations is quick and simple in Power View. Moreover, you can also do it in the presentation view, in order to answer any queries that can arise during a presentation.

If you run multiple apps in the background, it will drain the battery of your Windows 11 PC quickly.

Other actions such as keeping the brightness high, keeping the charger plugged in for long hours, etc. also degrade the battery life of your PC.

To avoid such instances, you can change the power mode to Best power efficiency, and follow the tips in this guide to improve the battery performance.

Is your Windows 11 laptop battery draining faster? Are you looking for ways to get the best power efficiency from your Windows 11 laptop?

If so, then you are in the correct place. Because in this guide, we will give you the steps that you need in order to get the best efficiency on your Windows 11 laptop.

Similar to the previous version of Windows, Microsoft has included different power modes. These power modes use a combination of specific hardware and system settings to provide the chosen performance level.

By default, your Windows 11 machine will be set to balanced mode. In this mode, the system automatically balances the hardware and system settings to give you the best performance and battery life.

However, if you are running resource-intensive tasks or gaming, then this mode may not be preferable, as you will experience lag and stutter.

Whatever the case may be, depending on your use case scenario, changing to a different power mode makes sense.

With the help of this guide, you will be able to change the power mode in three different ways. More importantly, you will learn how you can get the best power efficiency from your Windows 11 PC. Let us check them out.

What are the steps to turn on battery saver mode in Windows 11?

1. Enable battery saver 2. Enable automatic battery saver

It may not always be good to run your Windows 11 PC in the best performance mode, as it will drain your laptop’s battery pretty quickly.

In particular, if you are traveling or have forgotten to bring a charger with you. So, to slow down the battery-draining process, you can either enable the battery saver mode or use the option to turn on the battery saver automatically at a specific battery percentage.

Now, let us check out how you can change the power mode on your Windows 11 PC to the best power efficiency mode and make your PC last longer.

How can I get the best power efficiency in Windows 11? 1. Using Windows Settings 2. Using Control Panel 3. Using Command Prompt

Building Intelligent Iot With The Power Of Artificial Intelligence

Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) together have transformed many industries using a combination of big data, analytics, connectivity and machine learning techniques. Increased processing power from GPUs has left a mark on manufacturing, government, and healthcare sectors most of all.

Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) together have transformed many industries using a combination of big data, analytics, connectivity and machine learning techniques. Increased processing power from GPUs has left a mark on manufacturing, government, and healthcare sectors most of all. Nvidia Corporation, an American technology company has announced a partnership with Komatsu Ltd ., a Japanese firm and one of the leading makers of construction and mining equipment on 14th December 2023. Nearly 3000 deaths and 15000 injuries were reported at construction sites just in this year, according to Japan Construction Occupational Safety and Health Association . To increase safety standards, Nvidia’s GPUs will now be embedded in heavy machinery which will also simultaneously increase productivity. Just as in the case of Komatsu, IoT and AI together are being leveraged across many industries. The most prominent one being the automobile industry. Massive volumes of data is being combined with machine learning technology for a car to become more aware of its surroundings and identify unsafe situations and react accordingly. Deep learning algorithms form the basis for AI. It involves automatic feature detection from data. There are a range of data types to which AI techniques can be applied like transactional data, sequences, text (Natural Language Processing), images and sound, and behavior. AI is about being able to make autonomous decisions by detecting and learning from various types of datasets. Combining this with the IoT can be quite different from traditional data science. With the number of verticals in IoT, the required models also change. Traditional data science makes use of a variety of algorithms whereas AI and IoT together mostly make use of the time series models like ARIIMA and Holt Winters. In the manufacturing sector, these models can be used for predictive maintenance, abnormality detections, forecasting, etc. As an input, it is recommended to use IoT alongside traditional models used in the telecom industry like upsell, cross sell and churn modeling. It is very evident that with the increase in innovation, new products and rise in enterprise deployments, AI is being explored by more and more sectors for deriving value in the form of insights. In the first half of 2023, venture capitalists raised about US$705 million to fund AI focused IoT startups. In fact, even prominent vendors of IoT like Amazon, IBM, and Microsoft are integrating AI capabilities in their operations. The ability of AI to give quick insights is what is making it popular. AI’s machine learning technology being able to automatically identify patterns and detect abnormalities has already been discussed in the context of self-driving cars. Also, other AI technologies like speech recognition and computer visions help derive insights from data that used to be previously reviewed by humans. Business models that work on AI and IoT like ‘mass personalization at scale’ or ‘as a service’ require massive datasets and sophisticated computing techniques. And, since IoT connections are in the cloud, AI will also depend on cloud-based services. With growing demand for IoT and AI-based services, investments in SaaS and other big data technologies is only going to increase from here. According to Gartner , at present, there are only 10 percent enterprise IoT projects that include an AI component. It predicts that by 2023, this figure will rise to 80 percentage. Almost every industry vertical’s operations have been redefined by the combination of IoT and AI. IDC predicts that by 2023, IoT deployed data without AI supporting its efforts will have a limited value. Enabling better offerings, productivity, and operations, AI will only boost the value created by IoT deployments thereby providing a competitive edge to companies.

The Power Of Positive Communication

The demands of teaching can feel overwhelming at times, and it can become easy to lose sight of the most important reason we teach: the students. Each student is special and deserves to be appreciated for his or her unique traits. By developing a system to send positive notes home on a regular basis, I have found that I keep my students’ successes in the front of my mind, and rough days are quickly put into perspective—for the students, their families, and me.

Most teachers are required to contact home when a student performs poorly in the classroom—academically, behaviorally, or both. My own teaching has positively grown through my intentionally contacting families when students perform well.

Track Communication

At the beginning of each school year, in addition to setting up a new grade book, I set up a chart listing every student alphabetically by last name. In the columns, I list the dates when I make contact with families, the method (email, carpool line, in-person meeting, or phone call), and the reason for contact. Throughout the year, whenever I need to contact a family, I make sure to enter it into the chart, with the goal of contacting each family with a positive note home at least once.

At the beginning of the year, I contact families who are new to the school within the first two weeks. In my experience, these families have some anxiety about their child being in a new environment, and they feel relieved when they hear that the year is going well from an adult’s perspective. It also helps for them to have a contact at the school in case of questions in the future.

As the year progresses, I set new goals. Last year, my goal was to contact half of my students’ families with a positive note by Thanksgiving. This year, I’m moving the goal to contact everyone with a positive note home before the end of January.

Positive Moments

My practices in positive contact began my second year of teaching when sending home messages of concern began to weigh on my own spirit of optimism. I realized that if I sent a positive email each time I sent an email of concern, I could refocus my energy into recognizing the students who made the day a delight.

Now, years after that realization, I try to send positive emails before the concerns arise so that each family has a positive story to tell about their child’s school experience.

Some of the most obvious contacts are the easiest. When a student does exceptionally well on a difficult assessment like an essay or a pop quiz, I contact his or her family. But assessments are not the only opportunity to send home praise. Contact can be about a student excelling in soft skills: mediating a disagreement in group work, pairing up with a lonely student during class, or showing empathy to a classmate having a rough day. Their behavior need not be exceptional; I have sent notes about students habitually coming into the classroom and following procedures, reliably completing homework, and tackling difficult tasks with a positive attitude.

To make sure that no student has contact only for negative reasons, I color-code the fonts of the chart. Later, when I open the chart, I can quickly scan for colors and see if I have a positive note for a follow-up, typically two or three weeks after the original contact for poor performance. I take that time to observe students and note any positive moments I can in order to contact home again with a positive growth note.

Seeing Each Student

By setting an intentional goal to email home with a positive, personal anecdote, I make sure that no student is invisible in my classroom. As I scroll through my list each week, I can see which students’ families haven’t been contacted yet, and I am able to home in on those relationships and develop them intentionally. Too often, students who receive the most attention are those who are relationship-seeking with negative behaviors such as acting out or underperforming on assessments. The rest of the families might not hear from the school the entire year, despite their students’ great attitude and work ethic. Intentional tracking allows me to recognize those students for the habits they bring as well.

In the course of intentionally noticing and praising the attitudes and behaviors of my students, I’ve been able to build positive community between the school and home. Not only do parents appreciate receiving a glimpse into their adolescent’s daily life (especially when conversation might be short at home), but they appreciate their child being seen and recognized by an adult. Knowing that someone at the school is looking beyond the standards, grading, and checklists to see each child as an individual goes a long way in building rapport and credibility between the two most important parties in education: home and school.

The Power Of Artificial Intelligence In Drones

This article was published as a part of the Data Science Blogathon.

Introduction

Nowadays, people around the world think about drones — and not just how fun they are to fly, but how much drones have improved our modern life.

From delivering packages on demand to surveying disaster zones, drones are crucial to many businesses and civilians’ daily lives. But all this technology comes with significant overhead: as drones get more complex and sophisticated, so does the amount of work that goes into developing them and integrating their features properly.

Drones are becoming increasingly popular for a variety of uses, including photography, videography, and delivery. But what if there was a way to automate drones so that they could be used without a human operator?

That’s where artificial intelligence (AI) comes in. AI can be used to control drones so that they can fly autonomously. This means that drones can be operated without a human pilot, making them even more versatile.

There are a few different ways to automate drones using AI. One common method is using GPS coordinates to program the drone’s flight path. This can be done using software like Google Maps or even a smartphone app.

Another way to automate drones is b d them. This is useful for avoiding obstacles and potential crashes.

Finally, voice control is another option for automating drones. This involves the use of voice commands to control the drone’s movements. This can be done with a simple voice-activated controller or even through a smartphone app.

Whichever method you choose, automating your drones using AI will make them even more versatile and easy to use.

What is a drone?

Drones are unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) that are controlled by a remote operator or by onboard computer systems. They are increasingly being used in a variety of commercial and military applications.

How can AI be used to automate drones?

AI can be used to automate the control of drones, including their navigation and movement. This can be done using a variety of methods, including GPS tracking, computer vision, and machine learning algorithms.

How do drones fly?

Drones are unmanned aircraft that are flown using a remote control or by following pre-programmed flight paths. Some drones are equipped with cameras and can be used for photography or video. Drones can also be fitted with sensors and used for mapping or monitoring crops or wildlife. Increasingly, drones are being equipped with artificial intelligence (AI) technology, which enables them to fly autonomously.

AI-equipped drones are being used in a variety of applications, including search and rescue, agricultural mapping, and even delivery of goods. As the technology continues to develop, we will likely see an increasing number of drones flying autonomously in our skies.

Who builds and makes drones? What are they used for?

Drones are becoming increasingly popular and are now being used for a variety of purposes. Several companies build and sell drones, and they are used for everything from photography to delivery.

One of the most exciting uses for drones is automation. Using AI, drones can be programmed to autonomously fly and perform a variety of tasks. This is opening up new possibilities for how drones can be used in the future.

For example, imagine a drone that could be sent to deliver a package. The drone would use its AI to navigate to the address and then safely deliver the package. This would be a huge time saver and could even help to reduce traffic congestion.

Or what about a drone that could be used for security? AI-enabled drones could patrol an area and look for suspicious activity. If something was detected, the drone could raise the alarm and alert the authorities.

The possibilities are endless when it comes to automating drones using AI. This is an exciting development that is sure to change the way we use drones in the future.

Introducing Artificial Intelligence

The term “AI” stands for artificial intelligence. AI is the result of applying cognitive science techniques to artificially create something that performs tasks that only humans can perform, like reasoning, natural communication, and problem-solving. There are different levels of AI, from simple rule-based systems to complex learning machines.

Drones are one type of robot that is becoming increasingly popular and useful. They are already being used in a variety of settings, including law enforcement, search and rescue, and even farming. But what if we could take things a step further and automate drones using AI?

There are some challenges to overcome before AI-powered drones become a reality. First, the technology is still in its early stages and needs to be refined. Second, there are ethical concerns about giving machines the power to make

Artificial Intelligence

Artificial intelligence (AI) can be defined as a system’s ability to correctly interpret external data, learn from such data, and use those learnings to achieve specific goals and tasks through flexible adaptation. For a system to be truly considered ‘intelligent’, it needs to exhibit all three of these key features.

Drones are unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) that are increasingly being used for a variety of purposes, from photography and videography to package delivery and military applications. While early drones were controlled manually by operators on the ground, newer models are being equipped with AI-powered Flight Controllers that enable them to fly autonomously.

AI-powered drones are still in their early stages of development, but they have the potential to revolutionize the way we think.

The use of artificial intelligence (AI) in drones is becoming more prevalent as the technology continues to evolve. Drones are becoming increasingly autonomous, and AI is playing a big role in that trend.

AI-enabled drones can make real-time decisions on their own, without human input. This is especially useful in situations where time is of the essence, such as search and rescue missions or disaster relief efforts.

AI also allows drones to avoid obstacles and navigate through tight spaces. This is incredibly helpful when flying in crowded areas or conditions with poor visibility.

Overall, AI is making drones more efficient and effective, both in terms of their ability to gather information and their ability to carry out tasks. As drone technology continues to develop, we can expect to see even more amazing applications of AI.

Technology innovation has always entailed some form of automation. The term “Automation” was first coined in the automobile industry, and it referred to the increased use of automatic devices and controls in manufacturing processes. This revolutionized manufacturing and led to mass production. -Drones are the latest frontier of automation, and they are being used in a variety of ways, from delivering packages to taking pictures and videos. Now, there is a new application for drones: using them as flying robots that can be controlled by Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Drones have already transformed the way we live and work. They are now being used for tasks such as delivery, photography, and surveying. And with the help of AI, they are becoming even more useful. Automating drones using AI can help us achieve things that were previously not possible, or that were very difficult to do.

For example, imagine you want to take a picture of a specific building. You could manually fly a drone to the location and take the picture yourself. But it would be much easier (and cheaper) to simply tell an AI-controlled drone where to go and what to do. The drone would then fly to the location on its own and

Automating Drones using Artificial Intelligence Techniques

Developers are teaching drones to think for themselves, using AI techniques such as machine learning and computer vision. By doing so, they hope to make drones smarter and more autonomous, able to perform tasks such as obstacle avoidance and target tracking without human intervention.

One challenge in automating drones is that they have to operate in unstructured environments. This means that they need to be able to adapt to their surroundings on the fly and make decisions based on incomplete or changing information.

Machine learning is a promising approach for teaching drones how to do this. Using machine learning, developers can train drones to recognise objects and interpret their surroundings. This allows them to make decisions based on what they see, rather than having to follow predefined rules set by humans.

Computer vision is another key technology for making drones smarter. By equipping them with cameras and algorithms that can interpret what they see, drones can learn to navigate their environment and avoid obstacles. This is particularly important for flying drones indoors, where there are many potential hazards that they need to avoid.

Combining AI techniques such as machine learning and computer vision will allow developers to create drones that are much smarter and more autonomous than anything that exists today. This will open up

Collection of flight data from a drone pilot

Supervised learning algorithm

Drones are equipped with an array of sensors that can collect a large amount of data. This data can be used to train a supervised learning algorithm to fly the drone automatically.
