1.Kindly brief us about the company, its specialization, and the services that your company offers.Totality Corp is a 5.5 year old technology company focused on gaming and interactive media. We are passionate about how people interact with each other and how to make those interactions fun, more engaging, and meaningful by using cutting-edge technology. This has made us venture into casual mobile gaming, real gaming, interactive video platform and now into gaming Metaverse applications.
2.With what mission and objectives, the company was set up? In short, tell us about your journey since the inception of the company.We started in July 2023, with a passion for mobile gaming. We launched our first game Space Run on iOS worldwide and in the 1st week, it was selected by Apple App Store as one of the “New Games we love” across 5 countries all over the world.
We then built India’s first real money mobile games platform called MGPL – Mobile Gaming Premier League, which was launched in April 2023. We scaled that to 2.3mn users and were the first movers in this category which then saw the likes of VC-funded companies like MPL, Winzo, and Paytm first.
In July 2023, we launched the world’s first Interactive video platform, Yovo. Our idea was to make videos more interactive and combine the joy of gaming and short videos. YoVo was a UGC (user-generated content) platform that was scaled to 3.5mm users. Users were creating 50,000 videos on a daily basis on the platform.
3.Mention some of the awards, achievements, recognitions, and clients’ feedback that you feel are notable and valuable for the company.We have sold the largest amount of NFT drop in India of Rs 4.5 crores in December 2023. We have one of the largest NFT communities in India. 14k Discord users, 20k registered users, 100k users who follow us across different platforms.
4.How do you see the company and the industry in the future ahead?We know that Web3 is the evolution of the Internet-driven by 3 changes. Web3 is user-centric and all ecosystems are being built around the users, their needs and by giving them control. Unlike Web2, which is platform centric, Web3 gives ownership to the users. We shall see identity, and digital data are owned by the users who will then be incentivized to share their data in return for tangible and intangible rewards. Metaverse also brings a more immersive experience to the users. Some of these experiences will fulfill the internal desires and needs of the users which games do, with some of them giving more convenient experiences to the users by enabling say virtual tourism and visiting Paris from your living room and some will enhance the fantasy layer for users where they can visit alien worlds, become soldiers fighting and saving their home world, etc. The last and third aspect of Web3 is the native economic layer that is enabled via tokens and NFTs. We believe that like in real life, most digital ecosystems would evolve to give economic opportunity to everyone.
At Totality, we are building across all 3 aspects of ownership, experience, and economic layer. I like to give ownership to people very quickly and help them in solving any hurdles that come along. Microsoft Says Yammer Sales Are Booming
With the backing of its new parent company, Yammer more than tripled its revenue year on year in the quarter that ended in March.
Sales of Yammer’s cloud-based enterprise social networking (ESN) software shot up 259 percent in Microsoft’s third fiscal quarter, compared with the same quarter in 2012, when Yammer was still an independent company, Microsoft said on Thursday.
Microsoft isn’t disclosing Yammer’s revenue in dollar figures, but the growth and momentum—Yammer added 312 new customers in the quarter—is a validation of the $1.2 billion it paid for Yammer last July, a Microsoft executive said in an interview.
“We’re really pleased with the acquisition, with the process of the teams coming together and with the continued customer acceptance and demand,” said Jared Spataro, senior director of the Microsoft Office Division.
“There are always questions after an acquisition, like, ‘How is it going?’ There’s a worry about cultures clashing, and about products and strategies coming together,” Spataro said. “When we did the acquisition, we talked a lot about how it would accelerate Yammer’s momentum. So this is a great data point to demonstrate how well things are going in general.”
Spataro specified that to calculate the revenue spike, Microsoft considered only sales of standalone Yammer licenses, and left out revenue coming in from Enterprise Agreement volume licensing deals involving the ESN product.
It should also be noted that after the acquisition, Microsoft eliminated Yammer’s Business edition and slashed the price of the more sophisticated Enterprise edition from $15 to $3 per user per month, so in this year’s quarter Microsoft generated significantly less revenue per license than Yammer did in the prior year’s quarter.
Microsoft expects Yammer sales to get another boost this summer when the Yammer sales team is merged with Microsoft’s global salesforce, boosting the number of reps pushing Yammer from about 100 today to thousands worldwide.
As a frame of comparison, worldwide revenue for enterprise social collaboration software grew about 25 percent in 2012 compared with 2011, according to Michael Fauscette, an IDC analyst.
Another market benchmark is Jive Software, a publicly traded ESN vendor, whose revenue grew 34 percent to almost $34 million in the quarter that closed at the end of March.
“Clearly with this announcement Microsoft is trying to put a certain amount of validation out there that says they made a good acquisition, because some people thought they had overpaid for Yammer,” Fauscette said.
Looking back, it’s clear to Fauscette that Microsoft picked the best ESN product available at the time, and that so far the acquisition appears to be working well for both parties.
Microsoft bought Yammer primarily to boost the ESN features in its all-purpose and ubiquitous SharePoint enterprise collaboration server, which has an on-premises version and a cloud-based version called SharePoint Online that is part of the broader cloud email and collaboration suite Office 365. The newest on-premises version is called SharePoint 2013.
Integration of Yammer and SharePoint is grinding along and will take probably two years to complete. In March, Microsoft offered an integration road map that calls for Office 365 customers to get the option this summer to replace SharePoint Online’s activity-stream component with Yammer’s, a modest, basic first integration point.
Also by this summer, Microsoft will deliver a Yammer application that will let users embed a Yammer group feed into a SharePoint site. This Yammer application, which will be available in the SharePoint app store, will work both with SharePoint Online and with SharePoint 2013 servers installed on a customer’s premises. Microsoft will also make it possible for customers to replace the newsfeed in SharePoint 2013 servers installed on premise.
Later in the year, the integration will deepen with a single sign-on and the inclusion of Yammer in the Office 365 interface. Yammer will also gain integration with Office Web Apps, the browser-based version of the Office productivity suite, before the end of the year.
Next year, Office 365 customers can expect integration between Yammer and other Office 365 components beyond SharePoint, such as Lync and Exchange. Yammer is already being integrated with Microsoft Dynamics enterprise software.

Using Blend ModesAs mentioned above, blend modes affect how your overlay is applied to the underlying photo. For most overlays and textures, you’ll want to choose the Screen blend mode.

Lighten or DarkenIf you notice that your overlay is too light or too dark in certain spots, you can change this by using adjustment layers. You can add a Curves adjustment layer, and pull down the center of the curve to darken the photo. Then, you can use the paint tool in black to erase areas of the layer you don’t want.
Using Photoshop OverlaysPhotoshop overlays are a quick and easy way to add something extra to your photos and make them more unique. Keep in mind, though, that you don’t want to add too many overlays at once or else you may pull attention away from what you photographed.

Plant Pandemics Are On The Rise, And We Need A Plan To Stop Them
In 2004, a fungus blew into the Southern US on the winds of Hurricane Ivan. That fall, the first cases of the fungus, called soybean rust, were spotted on soy crops in Louisiana. The rust is a voracious eater, and, if a farmer is unlucky, can reduce soybean yields by 80 percent.
As globalized agriculture becomes increasingly vulnerable to plant pathogens, a group of plant pathologists argue that the world needs to do more to head off emerging plant pandemics like this.
By one estimate, close to a third of the world’s rice and between 10 and 25 percent of its wheat are lost to funguses, viruses, and insects.
Over the last century, changes to both agriculture and the planet have set the stage for the rapid spread of agricultural diseases. The right pathogen can quickly adapt to a supposedly resistant plant, and burn through fields planted with a genetically identical monoculture. Depleted soil can leave plants even more vulnerable to infections. And the global trade in agricultural commodities mean that diseases can spread quickly from one side of the world to another.
“There are broader changes that lead to the emergence of pathogens that are different from the past,” says Neil McRoberts, a plant pathologist at the University of California Davis who was not involved in the research. “Under circumstances where they’ve previously seemed relatively unimportant and unnoticed, it can seem as if they emerge in relatively short periods of time as being more important.”
The most famous example is that of the Cavendish banana, the variety you buy in American grocery stores. The strain is sterile, and new plants are generated from clones, leaving it exceptionally vulnerable. They’ve only been commercially dominant since the 1950s, when a fungus called Panama disease wiped out their predecessor. Now, a new strain of the fungus is working its way through Asia, parts of Africa, and Colombia, where it could wipe out monoculture plantations.
In order to mitigate the destruction caused by similar diseases, the researchers argue, we need to invest in systems that will let us detect and respond to crop pests as they arrive–especially diseases that are invisible to the naked eye. That’s going to take both geopolitical and technological solutions.
On the technological end would be scaled-up disease detection systems, and genomic surveillance—much like the technology that’s used to detect COVID variants–to track the spread, and determine the origin, of concerning diseases.
“We have sensors that can detect disease before a spot shows on the leaf,” Ristaino says. “Kind of like someone with diabetes might put a patch on to monitor glucose levels, we’re developing these little plant patches.”
More challenging is the international infrastructure to ensure that countries share data and resources with one another.
“Plant health is something that’s really hard to keep on the international policy agenda,” says McRoberts.
That’s in part because, absent strong international cooperation, countries have an economic incentive to conceal agricultural outbreaks: it might hurt their exports. Meanwhile, the immediate health consequences of a crop pest might not be obvious.
That’s easier said than done, because although the technology might be available, it doesn’t come cheap.
“It becomes a political question very quickly. It’s easy to see from the economic North”—essentially Western Europe, Canada, and the United States—“how surveillance can be an effective thing,” McRoberts says. “The economic North is able to get all the benefits of trade and travel, while protecting itself from the problems those bring with them. I think the trickier problem is the one that involves this global equity question: how do you give that capability to the rest of the world, too?”
The paper calls for international organizations, like a wing of the United Nations, and the World Bank, to provide that capacity. And Ristaino acknowledges that the US has the capacity to scale up the technologies, but outside money will be needed to use them globally.
Still, better surveillance doesn’t mean that crops will be free from pests—it means that we’ll be another step ahead of them in a continuing arms race. It means that farmers might be able to use fungicides more efficiently, or plant modified varieties that resist an incoming pest. But the pests themselves are simply a part of growing food.
That doesn’t mean that surveillance isn’t worthwhile, McRoberts notes. “We should be better at anticipating the consequences of things we’re going to do anyway.”
What Are National Monuments And Why Is Trump Reviewing Them?
Update, May 5: This post was written before the Department of the Interior released the final list of monuments that would be reviewed, and details all of the potential monuments that might be selected for review. Today the Department of the Interior revealed the full list which can be viewed here. The list includes the Grand Canyon-Parashant National Monument, Bears Ears National Monument and Craters of the Moon. Although the Executive Order which led to the reviews says it would concentrate on national monuments that were 100,000 acres or larger it also includes Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument in Maine which is 85,000 acres. It’s inclusion is likely decided by the clause “as made without adequate public outreach and coordination with relevant stakeholders.” The executive order doesn’t detail who is a relevant stakeholder.
I once had a colleague, an expat, who preferred everything about his home country to the United States. His list included culture, politics, education, and even the minutest aspects of our food. The bouquet of his native land’s cinnamon was allegedly more delicate and contained subtler flavors than the overpowering barbarism of American cinnamon, for example. This colleague preferred everything about his home country, that is, except its nature. In this, he begrudgingly admitted, the United States trounced his homeland. And he isn’t alone in appreciating America’s natural beauty. US travel analysis data shows that roughly a third of overseas visitors coming to the United States visited a national park or monument.
The United States has 58 National Parks, from marquee majesties like Yellowstone and the Grand Canyon, to less well known but no less precious places like Colorado’s Black Canyon. And then there are places like Organ Pipe Cactus in Arizona, and California’s Devil’s Postpile. We often think of those places as National Parks, because they are overseen by the National Park Services, but they’re actually National Monuments. It takes an act of Congress to create a National Park, but thanks to The American Antiquities Act of 1906, all it takes to establish a monument is a presidential pen.
Today, President Trump will sign an executive order to “review” 21 years of presidential decrees that established National Monuments, dating back to 1996 when President Clinton established in Utah Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument.
What will a review accomplish?What a review in this context actually means is unclear, since it’s never been done before. For more than a century, the Antiquities Act has allowed the President of the United States to declare that certain lands be placed under federal protection either because of their historic, prehistoric, or scientific significance. And up until now, there were no take-backsies.

In 1938, Attorney General Homer Stille Cummings wrote a formal opinion saying that the Antiquities Act authorized a president to establish a monument, but did not grant a president the right to abolish one. Congress basically incorporated Cumming’s opinion into the Federal Land Policy and Management Act of 1976, which says that a president can create a monument but it takes an act of Congress to revoke it.
It is unclear why President Trump is demanding a review, or what that will ultimately mean for our national monuments. But some Western lawmakers have called for the federal government to cede these lands back to state control for years. Others fear doing so would limit public access—including to outdoor industries such as hunting, hiking, camping, and fishing—in favor of turning over large portions for energy and property development.
But undoing monument status isn’t so straightforward: some of the lands were already public lands with lesser protections when they received the designation. Others, like Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument in Maine, were created with land deliberately donated by private citizens with the goal that they be protected. Some have a ton of community support even if their existence is opposed by federal lawmakers. The Grand Staircase National Monument, for example, was vigorously opposed, but then eventually welcomed when locals realized that monument status brought in tourism dollars. Usually, however, national monuments aren’t sprung on a community—many of them are deeply desired by locals.
But this question of reviewing monuments presents a unique opportunity to explore what past presidents have chosen to protect. Together they make up an interesting pastiche of American culture—historically and ecologically. Monuments: what are they good for?Some of these locations, like Pompey’s Pillar near Billings, Montana (which was designated a National Monument by President Clinton) are historical in nature. The pillar is one of the only living records marking the passage of the early American explorers Lewis & Clark. At 51 acres, it’s also one of the smallest. By PopSci’s estimates, a third of the lands protected during the past 20 years were historical in nature, including the Stonewall Inn in New York City (which served as the scene of a turning point in the movement for LGBTQ rights), or the bus station that acted as a lightning rod for integration during the 1960 Freedom Rides.
Another nine percent are a mix of historical and ecological. A place like the Sonoran Desert National Monument, which is home to at-risk species like the endangered Sonoran pronghorn and lesser long-nosed bat, falls into this category because it also has several historic sites and Native American relics. Similarly, Mojave Trails National Monument in California follows along a 105 mile stretch of the old Route 66, and serves as a wildlife corridor linking together Joshua Tree National Park with the Mojave Nature Preserve. Notes the BLM website: “The monument will protect irreplaceable historic resources including ancient Native American trading routes, World War II-era training camps, and the longest remaining undeveloped stretch of Route 66. Papahanaumokuakea Marine National Monument, which was established as a National Monument by President George W. Bush and expanded under President Obama, falls into this camp. At 583,000 square miles, it’s the world’s largest marine preserve and it’s remote—even for Hawaiians. Not exactly a tourist destination. Papahanaumokuakea will hopefully serve as a buffer against the conditions that are currently decimating coral reefs around the world, and by being so far away from human encroachment could provide insight into what it would take to restore the world’s reefs. Are Papahanaumokuakea and other ecological monuments safe in the wake of this unprecedented review? For now, all we can do is wait and see.
